With more than 30 years of coaching experience, Loretta is available to coach your administrators and teachers, individually or in groups.
Individually, Loretta will support teachers or administrators in planning, reflecting, problem-resolving, or calibrating. Loretta also has experience in coaching individuals who are in need of intensive assistance in order to be their most effective in their practice.
With groups, large and small, Loretta can support collective thinking in planning, reflecting, problem-resolving, or calibrating.
Instead of giving you solutions and her own ideas, Loretta will support your own best thinking and unlock resources you already possess, as an individual or as a group.
THE PLANNING CONVERSATION
This conversation structure allows an individual or group to mentally rehearse an upcoming lesson, event,or project to gain greater specificity and refinement in thinking.
THE REFLECTING CONVERSATION
This conversation structure allows an individual or group to mentally edit a past lesson, event, or project to analyze, identify personal learning, and apply to new situations
THE PROBLEM-RESOLVING CONVERSATION
This conversation structure, based on neuroscience and designed to support thinking when an individual or group is experiencing high emotion, feeling stressed, “stuck,” or struggling with a problem. Rather than offering solutions, the coach assists the individual or group in accessing high level thinking and internal resources, previously unavailable.
THE CALIBRATING CONVERSATION
The Calibrating Conversation is a fourth map of Cognitive Coaching℠ designed to support individuals or groups who strive to to use data to work toward greater effectiveness or growth. This conversation utilizes a rubric or other standards instrument to support individuals or groups in self-assessing by using data and setting goals for continued growth.
The coach has facility and automaticity with all four of the conversation structure. By listening intently to what is being said the coach makes deliberate decisions to select the structure that will be most helpful for the individual or group in the moment.
